Bryant Sales Centre and Grainger Landscaping

Bryant Homes have started preparing their sales centre on the Hambledon Road with car parking, flowers etc. They are also preparing to close off the site to the public apart from footpath 1 which starts in Closewood Road. They will keep the footpath marked as it crosses the site and walkers are advised to stay on the path as the area will soon become a building site on private land, so there will be a health and safety issue as well as trespass.
Grainger continue their planting programme both at the Maurepas Way roundabout and near the gas compound adjacent to the London Road. The following photo’s show some detail.

Taylor Wimpey start enabling and Grainger Landscaping

Taylor Wimpey have started pre-commencement works on the Hambledon Road site. These will be moving the sales centre, gravelling some ground to provide a temporary car park and connecting a temporary water supply.
Grainger are, quite dramatically, continuing their landscaping of the Maurepas Road roundabout, the new trees on the roundabout look stunning and will be a great improvement on the previous ‘grass/scrub’. The reed beds are also planted up just off the roundabout, this work will continue as different plants need different weather conditions to be put in.

Roadworks, Trees and Grainger Consideration

The southbound Maurepas Way carriageway, widened to three lanes has one lane hatched off. The new roundabout is designed to take extra traffic flow from the new houses when they are built. To maintain safe speeds with the current traffic flow, this will remain hatched off until increased traffic requires it to be opened up.

You may notice a small compound between Purbrook Gardens and the Gas sub station. This is for Graingers tree contractor who will start planting up the young trees the other side of the Gas sub station throughout March

The brush hedge, pictured, has been created to enable the dormice to move more easily and safely across from Marlesmoor Coppice to the neighbouring one.
