Roadworks, Trees and Grainger Consideration

The southbound Maurepas Way carriageway, widened to three lanes has one lane hatched off. The new roundabout is designed to take extra traffic flow from the new houses when they are built. To maintain safe speeds with the current traffic flow, this will remain hatched off until increased traffic requires it to be opened up.

You may notice a small compound between Purbrook Gardens and the Gas sub station. This is for Graingers tree contractor who will start planting up the young trees the other side of the Gas sub station throughout March

The brush hedge, pictured, has been created to enable the dormice to move more easily and safely across from Marlesmoor Coppice to the neighbouring one.

This is nonsense. The traffic flow is already heavy. If three lanes have been built then let us use them and alleviate the current flow. As it stands, with the hatched lane, it is just confusing.

    • Mark, unfortunately I can’t influence this. Highways are the responsibility of Hampshire County Council, perhaps you would like to contact them.
