Works are starting this week on the drainage for the new play area at Newlands Walk.

Phase 13A

Phase 13A (reference 17/01772/REM) for 73 residential dwellings was permitted at the Joint West of Waterlooville Planning Committee yesterday.

There are a few pre-commencement decisions to be discharged before work can start on site.  When an expected start date is known this blog will be updated.

New Council Name

The results of the recent Community Governance Review consultation confirmed that residents wish for a separate governance (e.g. a new parish) to be formed for the residents of the West of Waterlooville development.

The next stage of the review will ask residents for their views about the style of council (Parish, Town, Neighbourhood or Community Council), the precise boundary and its name.

Winchester City Council will offer and listen to ideas for names during the consultation. These names should preferably reflect some geographic or historic aspect for the whole area.  If you have an idea for a name that could be included in the consultation then please e-mail communitygovernancereview@winchester.gov.uk before noon on Monday 5th March.

Not all names can be included in the shortlist, this will be based on suitability and the frequency of suggestions.

The next stage of the consultation is due to start on Friday 9th March with open events being held:

Saturday 17 March 2018, from 10am – 2pm at
Wellington Vale Care Home, Darnel Road, Waterlooville, PO7 7TY

Monday 19 March 2018 from 5pm – 7.30pm at
Berewood Primary School, Kentidge Way, Waterlooville, PO7 3BE

Residents of West of Waterlooville can take part in the online questionnaire here:
